The thesis for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences, specialty 07.00.07 - History of Science and Technology. State Economy and Technology University of Transport, Kyiv 2017. The thesis gives a holistic study of a long and complicated way of formation and development of plant biotechnology in Ukraine as a part of the global biotechnologic science. The Plant Biotechnology as a science has its own history of development, while chronology of its functional and dynamic aspects are of particular importance. Having systematized a diverse source material, the author described the role of some prominent scientists and educators in the development of plant biotechnology in Ukraine, and viewed the dynamics of creation of biotech science major centers throughout Ukraine. There is prsented a wide practice of cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign researches.
