Essay

The thesis is devoted to research of conceptual aspects and practicalities of asserting Ukrainian national interests in energy sector and analysis of prospects of energy cooperation of Ukraine with European Union, the United States of America and Russia. The study is based on synthesizing of theoretical and methodological approaches to essence of energy dimension of Ukrainian national interests, definition of the author's view on the factors that influence them, research of trends and general practice of bilateral cooperation in energy dimension. It was outlined in the thesis that a strategy of foreign energy policy provides for an extension of general initiatives as well as development of innovative approaches are to be aimed at ensuring energy independence of Ukraine; it was confirmed that balance between European and national interests will allow Ukraine to build up an independent strategy for energy development of the state; it was determined that intensification of state policy in energy sector is taking of in order to gain transformational activity within political and economic factors, whereas in fields of security and information different approaches of Ukrainian politicians towards expansion of areas of international cooperation to ensure energy independence of Ukraine may be outlined.
