Object of the study: the process of transforming the investment potential of the global economy in a cyclical development environment; the purpose of the research: improvement of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the process of transformation of the investment potential of the global economic system and the development of scientific and practical recommendations on the formation of a complex of its countercyclical regulation in the architecture of trends in global economic development; research methods and equipment: theoretical generalization, comparison, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, structural and logical analysis, system analysis, analysis and synthesis method, statistical and economic-mathematical analysis and modeling methods, graphic; theoretical and practical results: the contours of the investment potential of the global economic system as a set of investment potentials of lower-level economic systems; systemic identification of transformations that occur under the influence of the cyclical nature of global economic development in the process of shaping the investment potential of the global economy by quantitative and qualitative criteria; theoretical and methodological approach to the study of the relationship between the formation of global investment potential and the cyclical nature of global economic development; scientific and methodical approach to the assessment of the investment potential of the economic system, the difference of which is: the development of the methodology for calculating the integral index of the investment potential of countries; quantitative bases of definition of effective levers of formation of investment potential of the countries in the conditions of global economic dynamics; mechanism of anticyclical regulation of the investment potential of the global economic system, which differs from the existing differentiation of the instruments of the mechanism depending on the stage of the economic cycle; conceptual-categorical apparatus for studying the investment potential of the economic system in the context of global cyclical dynamics through clarifying the content of the concepts "investment potential of the economic system", "economic cycle"; degree of implementation: the developments are implemented in the practical activities of the Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market, the State Educational and Scientific Institution "Academy of Financial Management", DTEK ENERGO LLC, in the educational process of Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University; scope: the transformation of the investment potential of the global economy in a cyclical development.
