The thesis presents the or eticalgene ralization of scientific problems of innovative competence of secondary schoolle adersas part of the irprofessional competence in the system of postgraduate education; clarifies the basic concepts of research and scientificap proaches, determines the structure and nature of the innovation competence of secondary school heads, criteria, indicators and levelsofits development. The structural-component model of innovative competence of an educational institution managersis developedand well-established in the system of postgraduate education, which includes components (constituent, cognitive, operational, personal) and pedagogical conditions as leveragetoen surepermanent training. The meaning ful development of innovative competence of managers of an educational institution is determinedin thesy stem of postgraduate education.
