Chumachenko O. The development of aircraft engineering in the USSR in the 1950s - beginning of the 1990s

The thesis is a system scientific research, where the history of the USSR's aircraft engineering development in 1950-1990 is summarized on the basis of complex analysis of sources and historiographical information, use of contemporary methodological principles. The periodization of research-and-production activity at branch enterprises is carried out. The main tendencies in the activity of basic Ukrainian aircraft engineering enterprises, connected with designing and production of four generations of gas-turbine engines are determined. The development of experimental and research activity, its impact on the formation of scientific-technical progress in manufacturing are described. Research activity at aircraft engineering enterprises, scientific-technical cooperation between the enterprises in aircraft engineering field and academic institutions, research institutions and higher school is analyzed.
