The dissertation is devoted to solving scientific and applied tasks of improving the functioning of public passenger transport in cities. The aim of the study is to improve the functioning of public passenger transport in cities through the creation of integrated transport enterprises. The object of the study is the process of organizing and managing the passenger transportation on urban routes, taking into account the work of transport associations. The subject of the study is the formation of a rational technological process for passenger transportation in cities, taking into account the work of transport associations. Methods of system analysis were used in studying the structure and elements of the public urban transport system. The theoretical foundations of modeling the population's needs for movement are formed using formalization and an inductive method. The development of analytical dependencies for determining the rational number of vehicles in the integrated transport enterprises, their common traffic schedule and tariff, was carried out using the methods of probability theory. The scientific novelty of the results of the research is that a new approach has been developed to improve the functioning of public urban passenger transport, which, unlike existing ones, is based on the synthesis of organizational and technological forms of activity to improve passenger transport services. For the first time: based on the proposed criteria, which, unlike existing ones, takes into account the interests of all participants of the market of urban passenger transport services, certain regularities in the effective functioning of joint transport enterprises; quantitative and probabilistic assessment of the effective parameters of the functioning of urban passenger transport in the context of integrated transport enterprises based on the identification of the needs of passengers in the choice of the implementation of displacement taking into account the social and marketing needs. Further development was the way to determine the service zones of integrated transport enterprises through the establishment of a rational economically viable range of tariffs for passenger transportation. The theoretical results of the thesis work consist in the development of methods for determining the rational number of vehicles, a single timetable for traffic and a single tariff for the integrated transport enterprises. The practical result is the application of the developed methods for improving the functioning of public passenger transport services in the Saltovska service area of the integrated transport enterprise in Kharkiv and in the Kharkov National Automobile and Highway University in the organization of the educational process for students of the faculty of transport systems direction 6.070101 "Transport Technologies". The practical significance of the research results is confirmed by the acts of implementation of the developed proposals at JSC "ATP-16327" and in the transport department of the Kharkiv City Council. The results of the study can be used by specialists of the transport industry in the field of urban passenger transportation.
