Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem of personality's experience and perception of life events. The author shows that the process of personality's experience and perception of life events happens through creating and narrating texts about life events: stories, narratives, etc. It is proved that peculiarities of personality's experience and perception of life events depend on the character of a life event, experienced and realized by a person, on having special conditions for experiencing and realizing this event, as well as on their personality factors. The indicators of life event perception in the text are the features of narrative, while the indicators of experience are description of feelings and emotions, use of metaphors, reflection, etc. Personality factors of experience and perception of life events are the peculiarities and the type of interpersonal relationships and the level of reflexivity. Experience and perception of traumatic events also depend on personality factors and the conditions for these processes. The research showed that students' experience and perception of standard life events are more successful than these processes concerning traumatic life events of ATO participants. In the latter case the experience and perception of traumatic life events are blocked from consciousness and inner world, which causes lack of future prospects and blocks personal growth. Successful experience and perception of life events leads to a new perceptionof a life event, which includes perception of the sense of this event and perception of person's feelings. All this brings about enriching life experience of a person and his/her personal growth.
