The dissertation is devoted to the research of the problem-solving skills formation of the future border guard officers in their professional activity. The nature and content of the skills to solve problem situations and the structure of problem-solving skills development have been clarified. The criteria, indicators and levels of problem-solving skills formation of the future border guard officers in their professional activity have been defined and described. The pedagogical conditions of problem-solving skills formation of the future border guard officers have been theoretically grounded and experimentally tested. The theoretical model of problem-solving skills formation of the future border guard officers has been developed, scientifically grounded and experimentally tested. Methodical guidelines for scientific-teaching staff on problem-solving skills formation of the future border guard officers in their professional activity have been elaborated based on the results of the research.
