Objective of the study: to develop composite bases of landscape and spatial organization of ski resorts. The object of study - ski centers in the Carpathians. Purpose of the study - landscape and spatial composition of ski resorts. The boundaries of the study - Carpathian mountains' landscapes. The study was conducted using the following general methods: content analysis and systematization of scientific and methodological literature, legislative acts and design materials; method of factor analysis and typological classification; site examinations and photofixation of ski resorts; interviewing people about the quality of landscape and spatial organization of ski resorts; sociological analysis of data; historical analysis; SWOT-analysis; method of abstraction and concretization. Also in the study the following specialized methods are used: computer modeling using GIS and CAD-programs, natural landscape systematization and others. For the analysis and assessment of landscape-dimensional arrangement of ski resorts are used: method of composition and morphological analysis; graph-analytic method; time and space analysis of ski resorts using the method of "experience curve". Scientific novelty of the results: - the interpretation of the term "ski resort" is clarified and the main elements of complex composite structure are highlighted; - the methods for analyzing the landscape and spatial compositions of ski resorts are improved; - the basic compozitional models of ski resorts in the Carpathians and their spatial relationships with the natural landscape are found; - the techniques of landscape and spatial organization of ski resorts by means of architectural composition are identified; - recommendations for landscape and spatial organization and composition of ski resorts, based on the environmental approach, are formed. The theoretical and practical results obtained in the thesis should be used in: - the development of regulations for the design and planning of recreational areas and facilities; - in the creation of educational programs in architectural and engineering, artistic and natural sciences higher educational institutions; - in the further research of scientists in the fields of architecture and urban planning.
