Essay

Object: a traditional material and spiritual culture in Boyko area-Pidhirya frontier. Objective: comprehensive analysis of housing and commercial complex (residential and economic buildings, their planning and design varieties, types and variants of development of peasant households, etc.), and identifying of features rites construction on the territory of the north-eastern part of Boikivshchyna and Zhydachiv, Sambir (Trans-Boikivshchyna), Pidhirya. Methods: analysis and synthesis, comparative historical and typological, diachronic, interdisciplinary, field of ethnographic research. Results: for the first time residential and economic buildings in yard, their planning schemes, types and variants of building of peasant households, and also features of traditional construction rituals on the territory of the north-eastern part in Boikivshchyna and Pidhirya are comprehensively analyzed, common and distinctive features for traditional building culture in near-mountainous and mountainous areas are founded, their spatial and territorial location is conducted, comparative characteristics of housing and economic complexes in the Boikivshchyna and near-mountainous Boikivshchyna, part of their ritual component are presented, and also construction terminology is refined and localized, informative framework for housing and economic construction in Boikivshchyna and Pidhirya, ethnographic zoning of Ukraine by marker "folk architecture" are improved, the local subdistrict Pidhirya is highlighted. Scope: for the study of ethnic history of Ukraine, for clarifying of the historical and ethnographic zoning in South-Western historical and ethnographic region and whole Ukraine in general, and also for the creation of synthetic works on ethnology, traditional architecture of Carpathian region and adjacent territories, as well as teaching the course of ethnology, history, popular culture and special training courses, for the formation of museum exhibitions of folk architecture, especially in Lviv.
