Essay

Based on a wide range of sources and materials collected during ethnographic field research in the dissertation for the first time comprehensively studied traditional housing of the present territory of the Chernihiv region at the End of XIX - first half of XX century. Was analyzed the common features of the folk architecture of Ukraine Chernihiv inherent to housing and its local features characteristic of certain districts and certain settlements. Researched the design elements of traditional Ukrainian dwellings, the materials used for its construction, features of exterior and interior, the system of traditional ceremonialism associated with building homes and living in it.
