Essay

Thesis is devoted to complex study of the new emerging types of the world political actors – transnational corporations; it aims at determining the roles and specific positions of transnational corporations, which influence world politics by transforming international systems and accelerating global processes within information society. The activities of modern transnational actors has been defined as the serious challenge for states and the whole global state-centric system. However the relations of traditional and new participants in the global arena are multilevel with a multidirectional structure. The multilateral diplomacy is being developed, which includes more than two states to secure problem solving, as well as multilevel diplomacy. Within this context there has been determined several possible models (partnership, confrontation, interdependence and neutrality) as well as the specific political and legal relations of the TNCs with the traditional global political actors. The political interaction of the TNCs with the new actors of the global politics (metropolitan areas, international criminal groups, migration trends, regional subjects, global religious institutions, separate individuals etc.) has been analyzed. All the above mentioned lays the groundworks for the conclusion that modern international relations are defined by multilevel structure with the forecasts in the field being much more complicated due to the increase of quantity and quality of actors in international relations. The essence of the TNCs transformation in informational area has been determined along with the TNCs modern types in informational area. There has been studied the role and value of TNCs in informational area within the global politics, with the examples of the internet-searching TNCs: Google, Yandex and Baidu. The conclusion defines that although national states remain the central actor of the global political system, the new actors (mighty transnational corporations in the informational area) are able to influence political, economic, cultural fields, as well as consciousness of a separate individual and the whole society. It sets forth that home and host states recipients mostly promote strengthening TNCs positions and their further expansion, contributing to the «erosion» of own sovereignty for the sake of solving the problems, which require the efforts of the transnational corporations. Currently the TNCs’ possibilities are widely used by different structures in their own political interests. It is impossible for the traditional state actors to control operational information causes, but the situation is different with the long-term projects. Quite often the states use the TNCs’ potential in their own interests. The thesis study finds, that within the information society the mighty transnational corporations become the «information empires», able to influence economic and cultural fields as well as human consciousness. In this context the Yandex expanding influence becomes a matter of concern, specifically due to its activity on the territory of Ukraine in terms of the armed conflict with Russian Federation. According to the context, the best decision would be to introduce assistance regime for Ukrainian web-search engines, although their resources are much less attractive than the ones of Google or Yandex. .
