The object of research: personal safety.The subject of research: psychological peculiarities of personal safety. Research methods. In order to solve the research tasks, the following methods were used in the study: theoretical methods (problematic-logical method, induction, abstraction, generalization, systematization, modeling) that were used for generalization of theoretical and methodological foundations; Methods of psychological diagnostics and mathematical data processing (methods of descriptive statistics, correlation and factor analysis). The method of psychological diagnostics included: the method of expert assessments, " The questionnaire of 16th factors by R. Kettella" (ORO); Questionnaire for the diagnosis of subjective control (RSC), (E.F. Bazhin, E.O. Golinkina, A.M. Etkind); Methodology of the "Index of Life Style" (IHS) (R. Pluchik, G. Kellerman, G. Konte); The questionnaire "The scale of psychological well-being by K. Riff" (BPB); A questionnaire «Scale of optimism and activity» (SHOA) (N.E. Vodopianova, M. Stein), questionnaire for self-assessment (CO) diagnostics (M.P. Fetiskin, V.V. Kozlov, G.M. Manuilov), methodology « Detection of person's vital values ??"(Must-test) (P.N. Ivanov, E. F. Kolobov). The scientific novelty of the results obtained are the following: First of all:- received general three-factor model of personal security ("Emotional stability and maturity of the individual", "Features of individual external activity organization", "Localization of personality’s control"), which preserves the essence of factors in individuals who subjectively feel security;- a model of personal safety was created for those who subjectively perceived danger ("Emotional instability and immaturity", "Purpose and organization of external activity", "Mechanisms of psychological protection");- There are two groups of factors that provide a sense of personal security: social (work, family and friends, sociopolitical, legal and material stability) and psychological (optimism, trust in people, acceptance of oneself and others, a sense of psychological well-being and support from significant people, lack of fear for the future, feeling of inner freedom, self-confidence and responsibility for your life, health, faith in God).- concluded and empirically confirmed psychological portraits of persons who subjectively perceive personal safety / danger; - were established typical and individual psychological differences in manifestations of personal safety / danger;- were demonstrated age features of individuals that subjectively perceive themselves in safety / danger;- were confirmed the special role of protective mechanisms in the process of formation of personal safety;- Definition of personal safety (is a persistent construct that reflects the value-sense sphere of the personality, which promotes: maintaining a positive life style; developing human abilities to reflect objectively and subjectively unfavourable external and internal influences and maintains the person's resistance to the proper level).The practical significance of the results obtained is that the results of studying the peculiarities of personal safety can be used in the lectures of "Psychology of Labor", "Differential Psychology", "Organizational Psychology" and the special course "Psychological Peculiarities of Business Leaders" for students of the psychological department of Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University (Act of Implementation No. 02-01-590 dated 03.30. 2017), in the lecture of courses "Сonflictology", "Professional Psychology" for ONAFT students "(Act No. 398/01 -K 31 of 19. 05. 2017), in practical activities of PJSC "Odesavinprom" (the act of implementing number 192 of 18. 05. 2017) and in the psychological counseling.
