Division of factors influencing the mechanisms of the world market of genetically modified products are developed (they are divided into environmental factors, associated with the development of the world economy, and factors of internal environment). Subjects which influence the formation of the world market of genetically modified foods are singled. State regulation and prospects for the use of modern biotechnology in the economy of Ukraine are analyzed and its shortcomings and basic problems are identified. The development of the world market of genetically modified foods under conditions of globalization and the economic aspects of the production of genetically modified products in developed countries and developing countries are illustrated. Empirical research and evaluation of the impact of the production of genetically modified foods on key macroeconomic indicators on the example of the leading countries-producers of genetically modified products are done.
