Yatsentii B. Professor O.T. Kalachikov (1902-1982) - a scientist, teacher and organizer of agricultural research case in Ukraine

In the dissertation the complex research of the life path and scientific activities of the Ukrainian scientist, Professor Aleksandr Tikhonovich Kalachikov (1902-1982) was carried out. His scientific heritage was analyzed and systematized. The contribution of O.T. Kalachikov in the development of agricultural research case, in particular, soil science in Ukraine in the 20-70's of the XX century was characterized. The identified periods of scientific formation and the further activities of the scientist-agrochemist made it possible to determine the main directions and importance of his scientific heritage for the development of domestic agricultural research case. The practical value of the scientist's work on the development of a comprehensive system of fertilizing agricultural crops, the establishment of classification and agronomic characteristics of soils in Ukraine and the substantiation of the basics of soil fertility enhancement was proved.
