Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the problem of influence of self-esteem which is an important personal characteristic over the effectiveness of a competitive activity of highly skilled hockey players. It has been proven that self-esteem is a regulator of a competitive activity, ensuring its best adaptation to the constantly changing game conditions. It has been noted that the achievement and support of an ideal, from the point of view of efficiency, level of self-esteem for hockey players may be considered the key to successful participation in competitions, which is one of the most relevant and perspective issues of the theory and methodology of training in hockey.
