Bench N. International and Legal Cooperation of Ukraine and the European Union in Criminal Matters in the Sphere of Freedom, Security and Justice.

The thesis is dedicated to the comprehensive scientific study of theoretical and practical aspects of relations between the EU and Ukraine in criminal matters, as well as the analysis of state of cooperation between Ukraine and EU in criminal matters, where formulated the conclusions on necessity brining certain legal acts of Ukraine in conformity with the EU law, fulfillment of recommendations and implementation of European Council standards by Ukraine, improvement of law enforcement system and reformation of law enforcement authorities of Ukraine. In the thesis the author disclosed normative and institutional mechanisms of cooperation, as well as basic principles of cooperation in criminal matters between Ukraine and the EU. The author formulated the conclusions and recommendations on improvement of criminal and criminal procedural laws of Ukraine, institutional pillars of law enforcement and criminal justice bodies’ activity with a view to providing efficiency thereof, as well as compliance with the EU standards.
