Essay

The theses deals with the problem of future primary school teachers' civic competence forming at the teacher training college. The modern state of studying the defined problem is analyzed. The essence of the primary school teacher's civiс competence is clarified, its structural components (axiological, cognitive, behavioral and reflexive) are determined. The criteria (motivational and axiological, cognitive and informational, organizational and activity-oriented, subjectively evaluating) and corresponding indicators as well as the levels (high, intermediate, and low) of the future primary school teachers' civic competence are characterized. The model of the future primary school teachers' civic competence forming was developed. It comprises such units: purposeful (aim and tasks); methodological (approaches and principles), content and technological (stages, content, teaching forms, technologies), diagnostic and evaluating (criteria, indicators, levels, result). The pedagogical conditions of forming the future primary school teachers' civic competence at the pedagogical college were determined, theoretically grounded and experimentally proved.
