Essay

The dissertation investigates the sources and trends of vocal-choreographic culture development of Volyn of the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The theoretical and methodological aspects of the research of synthetic types of art are thoroughly analyzed, peculiarities of amateur vocal-choreographic art functioning in the region are studied, the system of choreographic education as a source of development of professional vocal-choreographic art is highlighted .The main tendencies of the development of the studied synthetic genre are investigated on the material of the leading vocal-choreographic team of the region - the Volyn folk choir, whose activities are characterized by a wide palette of vivid regional and national repertoires,a wide geography of concert and competition and festival performances. The paper notes that the main sources of development of vocal-choreographic culture were, on the one hand, folk and church singing, democratic singing movement, initiated by Mykola Lysenko, traditions of academic-professional training of the choir conductor, and on the other - the process of objectification of the Ukrainian folk dance, as well as the so-called "dance songs", which synthesized a poetic word, singing and dance, were common in traditional rituals and everyday life. The development of Volyn artistic amateur can be divided into three main stages, connected with certain cultural-historical processes. The first phase lasted from 50 to 60 th years of the twentieth century and was characterized by the birth of amateur activity, which had a purposeful and ideologically determined character. The second stage - the 70's and 80's of the twentieth century - the systematic expansion of artistic amateurism, the diversification of the repertoire, and the growth of professionalism. The third stage began with the gaining independence for Ukraine and continuing to the present. Characterized by some decline in the direction and a decrease in the number of teams. However, the positive trends are related to the research and promotion of the layers of national and regional folklore, the involvement in the repertoire works of professional and amateur composers, the growth of the professionalism of performers and leaders of the groups, the expansion of the geography of concert and tour activities.
