Essay

Object: study is the UN activities to maintain global peace and security during the research period. The views on the modernization of the Organization of Permanent and Non-permanent Members of the Security Council are shown, with radical differences in their interests. The causes of UN reform failures in the beginning of the XXI century are analyzed, in particular the reluctance of the United States, Russia, China, Great Britain and France to change the existing privileged structure of the leading organs of the Organization.
