Essay

In the work, the structural-factor model of global economic progress as a dynamic, spiral, discrete movement of the global economic system to a qualitatively new state with satisfaction of human needs in the context of sustainable development is substantiated. The key challenges of the future development (climate change, destruction of natural resources, carbon energy, food insecurity, urbanization, the spread of infectious diseases, global conflicts) are identified. It is proved that the modern model of economic progress, based on intellectual capital, qualitatively differs from the previous models that used physical and human capital, due to the ability to continuously unrestricted growth. Newmethodology of the estimation of global economic progress according to the index that takes into accoun: economic well-being, employment level; education expenses; energy efficiency; health index; cultural integration is proposed. This approach enables, on the one hand, to integrate the most economically, socially and civically significant development parameters, and, on the other hand, to orient technological resources and investments in human development and welfare.
