Essay

The study involved examination of 190 women at the age of 42-58.5 years during menopause. The period of menopause in the examined patients was from one to three years. A retrospective analysis of outpatient records was performed in 160 cases of menopausal syndrome with arthropathy. The main clinical observation group (n=40) consisted of women who directly started and completed treatment with menopausal syndrome and a leading arthropathic component, of whom 14 women were found to have a natural character of menopause and 26 women had menopause due to surgical intervention. The group of comparison (n=30) comprised women with natural (n=16) and surgical type (n=14) of menopause. Women with menopausal syndrome and arthropathy were shown to have the leading statistically significant deviations for hormonal and metabolic parameters, as evidenced by the results of the correlation analysis of clinical (UEmp = 378.5 (p?0.05)), hormonal (UEmp = 38.0 (p?0.01)) and metabolic (UEmp = 412.0 (p?0.05)) parameters. The most expressed correlation relationship (r = 0.85; p<0.05) was observed between menopausal parameters and signs typical for arthropathy in women with natural menopause, indicating unidirectional character of these changes. That is, an increase in one index is closely related to an increase in another one. The study allowed to elaborate a mathematical model for predicting the effectiveness of treatment of menopausal syndrome with arthropathy
