Dissertation is sanctified to professional preparation of future officers for prognostic activity in the process of studying at higher military educational institutions. For determination of theoretical and methodical bases in the process of studying preparation essence and maintenance prognostic activity of officers are certain and the success is provided by prognostic competence. Prognostic activity of officers as a specific kind of their professional-administrative activity. The main aim is a purposeful planning and foresight of credible changes of military reality with their competences, determination and analysis of standard and alternative variants of actions in professional situations, and also in an evaluation and choice of the most expedient variants of decision of professional-administrative problems with the minimum losses of personnel, armament and technicians. Prognostic activityuse by officers within the limits of realization of professional-administrative competences and regulated in accordance with position requirements, and "provided" by a prognostic competence. Prognostic competence of officers is based on system of military-prognostic knowledge, skills, abilities, professionally important internals and primary practical experience, that assists the purposeful passing ahead planning and foresight of credible changes of military-professional reality, being of alternative variants of activity in official-administrative situations and choice of the most expedient variants of decision of professionally-administrative problems and tasks in the process of realization of professional competences as subjects military-professional. The pedagogical conditions of future officers' preparation for the prognostic activity in the process of studying at a higher military educational institution have been determined and substantiated: first, future officers' motivation to the prognostic activity; second, focus of the pedagogical design of forming of prognostic competence in the process of professional training, the result of that is the corresponding professionally oriented model that embraces blocks: having-methodological: contains an aim and task of forming of them prognostic competence; represents basic methodological approaches, pedagogical principles of the forming prognostic competence; knowledge-meaningful: contains the components of prognostic competence, exposes methodology of her forming, includes the corresponding stages, methods and facilities of the forming prognostic competence; diagnostically-effective: contains criteria and indexes of diagnostician of the forming prognostic competence of future officers is the result of training, complex of diagnostic methodologies and result; third, is introduction of methodology of forming of them prognostic competence, that presents totality of principles, methods, forms, facilities and stages component is of her forming in the process of their professional preparation at the higher military educational institutions. She will be realized after such stages: motivate: sent to realization of necessity of purposeful preparation officers to the prognostic activity, increase of motivation of capture by the prognostic activity, capture knowledge in relation to essence, maintenance and methods of prognostication, development of the prognostic thinking and forming of prognostic competence; effective methods on this stage are problem lectures, seminar employments, conversations, discussions, training and other; operation: sent to forming of prognostic skills and abilities, that will be realized by application of imitation methods of professional preparation is an analysis of concrete situations, method of cause, military-professional games and etc; active-adaptive: sent to deepening and systematization of knowledge from bases of the prognostic activity of officer, fixing of practical prognostic skills and abilities, increase of complication of professional tasks and exercises, that will be realized during the cycle of the training of "Basis of the military prognostication" sent to rapid adaptation of future officers of professional activity. The cycle of the training includes blocks: "General bases of the prognostic activity", "Procedure and methods of the military prognostication", practical "Practical work of the military prognostic". Such levels of formed of prognostic competence are set: low, middle and high.
