Bohonis O. Developing Economic Competency of Future Junior Hospitality Specialists in Vocational College

The concept of "future junior hospitality specialists' economic competency in vocational college", which is considered to be the individual's ability to apply motivational, personal, cognitive, activity-based and reflexive resources to solving economic and professional tasks and to ensure effective self-realization under the dynamic conditions of the HoReCa service industry, has been clarified. Ukrainian and foreign experience in training future junior hospitality specialists has been comparatively analyzed. Pedagogical conditions for developing economic competency of future junior hospitality specialists in vocational colleges have been identified: enhancing motivation towards mastering and applying economic knowledge in professional activities; realizing conical integration of economic subjects content and implementing the author's special course, titled "My Economic Competency"; applying problem-based learning; implementing game-based learning technologies. Efficiency of pedagogical conditions for developing economic competency of future junior hospitality specialists in vocational colleges has been justified and experimentally verified.
