Vedmediev V. Reception of absurdity in philosophical and anthropological discourse

The research is devoted to the reception of an absurd as an existential-anthropological phenomenon. The author uses philosophical-anthropological and axiological approaches, techniques of comparative studies. The problem of identification of absurd in its existential-anthropological dimension is analyzed. Identification methods are determined, the necessary conceptual and terminological tools are being worked out. The tendency of social-cultural legitimation of absurdity and absurdism in both real and virtual space is described. In particular, the phenomenon of flashmob and the subculture of freaks are considered. The arguments of the adherents and critics of absurdism, which the latter qualify as a peculiar social disease, are analyzed. A number of new trends – transhumanism, juvenile justice, multiculturalism manipulative technologies are characterized using absurdist concepts and evaluations. Thus, in the present day society absurdism in certain manifestations is of a serious threat to the existence and normal functioning of some of its basic institutions, as well as the being of the individual. Various means of counteracting absurdism are analyzed in the dissertation work.
