Essay

The scientific research is dedicated to the study of the problems of educational psychology and the ways of their solution in the theoretical heritage of the prominent Ukrainian-Polish scientist Stepan Balay. A theoretical and methodological analysis of the creative heritage of the scientist is carried out, the preconditions for the formation of his scientific worldview are analyzed, the system of his scientific and psychological view is considered. The educational psychology of Stepan Baley, which forms the basis of his scientific heritage, is an integral system of views characterized by the unity of structural and functional elements - the purpose, factors, principles, content and methods of education, oriented to the practical realization of natural science and psychologically grounded education for learning, deeply personal and creative in its essence. A retrospective analysis of the formation of Stepan Balay's ideas of the educational psychology in the system of scientific knowledge was made in the work, the originality of the scientist's views on solving the problems of psychology of education was substantiated. The significance of the scientist's ideas of the educational psychology for the development of the theory and practice of pedagogical psychology is described, their role in the context of the tasks of modern education, the ways of introducing the ideas of educational psychology of the scientist in pedagogical practice are proposed.
