Gurmak V. Transnational factor in South Korea's economy modernization

This dissertation is devoted to complex research into the transnational factor involved in the modernization of a national economy, focusing on the example of the model implemented in South Korea. In this dissertation, the theoretical principles of transnationalization of international corporate activity in the conditions of globalization are studied, the innovative nature of the activity of the Korean TNCs is examined and transnational model of modernization of the South Korean economy as an integrated public-private mechanism is considered. Focusing on the actions of Korean multinational corporations in recent decades, the effectiveness of using the main tools available for modernizing the national economy, primarily the stimulation of research and development on the part of transnationаl corporations, the provision of state financing of the educational and scientific sphere, redistribution of costs for the creation of a creative knowledge economy, the creation of research parks and technopolises in order to optimize the cost of science and innovation, thereby accelerating innovation and strengthening the effectiveness of national innovation policy in the context of transnationalization. The dissertation examines the impact of transnational corporations on the economic modernization of South Korea. The prospects and directions of economic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Ukraine in the field of information and communication technologies are substantiated.
