Essay

The thesis examines theoretical and practical aspects of the problem of preparation of prospective primary school teachers for the formation of learners’ communicative competence by means of periodicals for children. The basic research terminology is specified. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the problem of preparation of prospective primary school teachers for the formation of learners’ communicative competence by means of periodicals for children are considered. The functioning of periodicals for children in Ukraine is characterized. Readiness is interpreted as a result of prospective primary school teachers’ preparation. The structural components of readiness embrace motivational, cognitive, activity-based, personality-oriented, reflective and evaluative. Specific criteria and indicators of the levels of the formation of readiness are defined. The model of prospective primary school teachers’ preparation is elaborated as well as the step-by-step procedure of its implementation. The efficiency of the model is tested experimentally on the basis of implementing its fundamentals in the educational process of higher education institutions.
