Vagina O. Psychological factors of usage of Polygraph questioning of individuals by Law enforcement bodies of Ukraine

The thesis is devoted to consideration of psychological factors of usage of Polygraph questioning by Law enforcement bodies of Ukraine. The author analyzes theoretical approaches to the problem of Polygraph investigations, psychological and law aspects of appearance and usage of Polygraph questionings, an international practice and experience of Polygraph inquiries, theory and practice of Polygraph application in Law enforcement bodies of Ukraine. The psychological demands to formulation of Polygraph tests’ questions as well as psychological peculiarities of preparation and conducting of Polygraph examinations have been established. Psychological conditions of effective construction of Polygraph tests and indexes of validity and reliability of Polygraph questioning have been revealed as well. Typical tests for using in law enforcement agencies have been developed. Finally the author formulated conceptual basis of usage of Polygraph questioning by Law enforcement bodies of Ukraine, defined psychological demands for Polygraph examiners and theoretical base of their professional selection.
