The dissertation is devoted to the problem of the development of teachers’ media culture in institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education. The paper describes the state of the problem under study in psychological, pedagogical, social, and philosophical literature. Based on the substantiation of theoretical and methodological foundations, a categorical analysis of the basic concepts of the research ("culture", "media", "media culture", "media culture of the teacher") is presented, which reflects their general content, specifics, character and interconnection. A historical and pedagogical analysis of the problem of the development of media culture has been conducted. The educational context of the phenomenon of media culture is revealed, which is manifested in the consideration of the concept under study in the field of media pedagogy. The structure of the teachers’ media culture has been developed and scientifically substantiated. Criteria, indicators and levels of its development are determined. The author's model of the development of media culture of teachers in institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education is presented. The effectiveness of its implementation in the educational process of institutions of postgraduate education with the help of step-by-step methodology has been experimentally tested. According to the results of the experimental work, positive changes in all components of the teacher's media culture have been revealed. Prospects for further scientific researchers are outlined.
