The thesis is dedicated to the problem of professional competence formation of future technicians and technologists of food production in the study of natural disciplines. The author analyzed the state of its investigation in pedagogical theory. The scientific approaches to the problem study were revealed; the didactic principles were specified. The role and the place of natural sciences in the process of professional development of specialists has been determined, a set of subject competences, which should be formed during the studying process has been created. The author determined the structure of professional competence of technicians-technologists of food production. The model of its formation, which includes the target, theoreticaly-methodological, content, organizational-procedural, analytical and productive aspects, was scientifically substantiated. The criteria, indicators and levels of professional competence formation were specified. The effectiveness of integrative technology of professional competence formation of future technologists of food production in the process of studying natural sciences has been developed and experimentally tested.
