The experience of library functioning on social media are investigated and generalized in the thesis. It is investigated and clarified the specifics of conceptual apparatus of the subject under study. The common methodical approaches to studying the problem of library functioning on social media are determined. It is substantiated and analyzed the experience of social media using in the activities of Ukrainian and the world leading libraries. It is analyzed the specifics of library activities on social media as well as determined the main characteristics of these activities at native and foreign libraries. The methodical aspects of the analysis of library representations in social media is defined. It is formulated the model of library representation on social media, disclosed interrelations of its components as well as elaborated the practical recommendations to formation strategies of library representation on social media. The main development trends and prospects of library in the interactive media environment in context of the modern transformation of library into accumulative and access centers are determined.
