Apshai M. Regional librarianship research: state, problems, trends

In the thesis, the theoretical substantiation of the need for separation of the subsystem level of regional library science is made. The author's definitions of concepts of the regional library resource and regional library science are offered. The analysis of the dissertations, labeled with the concepts "regional experience", "regional analysis", "regional library science", "regional approach", "regional resource" has shown the presence of regional specificity in librarianship researches. The structure of the thematic field of regional research conducted by the Regional universal scientific library is established. It is revealed that the main task of the development of regional librarianship research in the conditions of transformation of methodological foundations of modern librarianship is the study of the basic principles of formation of communication links between all participants of the social and communication sphere in the region; the analysis of inside system library links; the study of user information needs; the definition of clear groups of interests of participants of the communication environmentin the region, which determines the priority directions of scientific research in regional libraries.
