The greatest effect in energy saving during the operation of absorption refrigeration units (ARU) can be achieved by improving the operating modes of the generator set. The goal of the work is to improve operating modes of ARU generator sets. The object of study is ARU generator sets. The subject of study is temperature and power operating modes, schemes and designs of ARU generator sets. Methods of study are theoretical and experimental. The well-known fact of the nonoperability of ARA of the standard design (without heat isolation of the entire lifting section of the reflux condenser) in conditions of the low ambient temperature (10 °C) and minimum thermal load on the generator (70 W) was confirmed by results of the simulation. It was noted that there is a significant calculated difference in temperatures (10 to 36 °C) between the flow of water-ammonia mixture and the wall of the reflux condenser in all modes of operation. This result is obtained for the first time and should be taken into account when adjusting the thermal load in the generator in accordance to the temperature at the characteristic point of the reflux condenser.
