thesis is devoted to the research of the problem of determination of phylogenetic selection criteria and prediction of success assessment of artistic gymnastics classes of children at the initial stage of long-term training of sportsmen. Phylogenetic signs of physical development, physical state, level of physical fitness and psychosomatic characteristics which provide competitive reliability are established in the thesis on the basis of use of the system of integrated assessment of biological age and features of its individual course. For the first time: results of the conducted researches, which open and prove essentially new approach of implementation of selection and prediction of progress of assimilation of arsenal of motive activity in artistic gymnastics already at the first stage in the system of long-term training of sportsmen, are presented. The creation of selection is based on assessment of biological age which considers rates of physical development and specific features of shaping of somatotype that directly influences features of course of trophic processes and physical state. The structure of complex assessment of measure of progress in artistic gymnastics classes which includes phylogenetic criteria for evaluation of physical development, feature of course of trophic processes, and features of psychosomatic processes which predetermine competitive reliability, is defined. Data on technique of selection and prediction of progress of artistic gymnastics classes of training programs for children's and youth sports schools, specialized schools of the Olympic reserve for children and youth, schools of the highest sports skill are added and expanded. Data on training of young gymnasts at the initial stage of selection and prediction of progress of artistic gymnastics classes in the system of long-term training of high-class sportsmen are confirmed.
