Object of the study: cross-border cooperation in conditions of European integration; the purpose of the research: the substantiation of theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the socio-economic efficiency of cross-border cooperation and the development of priority directions of raising its level at the present stage of European integration of Ukraine; research methods and equipment: general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, deduction and induction, structural-logical analysis, elements of system, structural-functional and comparative analysis, method of analysis and synthesis, methods of econometric evaluation and economic-mathematical modeling, graphic; theoretical and practical results: conceptual provisions for achieving the socio-economic efficiency of cross-border cooperation on the basis of rational organizational and institutional provision of cross-border cooperation and the method of indirect assessment of its socio-economic development; the distinction is made between the strategic objectives of the cross-border cooperation, which, unlike the established ones, are treated as structural transformation on the basis of changing the model of socio-economic development in the border regions of cooperation, the application of the principles of subsidiarity and decentralization, the adaptation of good governance practices, the development of civil society and the implementation of cross-border cooperation programs with effective use of financial resources of cross-border cooperation assistance programs; scientific and theoretical substantiation of the dual nature of the EU policy on cross-border cooperation with the regions of Ukraine, which, in contrast to the existing, aimed at eliminating the barrier effects of the border and the expansion of cooperation between regional and local government bodies, is based on an analysis of the local direction of the European Neighborhood Policy's cross-border programs on enhancing the efficiency and security of the EU's external borders; institutional and institutional foundations for the formation of cross-border clusters and industrial parks in Ukraine, which supplemented existing evidence of the need to simplify regulatory procedures, prioritize public-private partnerships for project implementation, outline ways of effective cooperation between local governments of neighboring regions, economic entities and civil society; component-functional structure of socio-economic development of transboundary regions that differs from the existing coverage of the three levels of the hierarchy: normative legal provision of cross-border cooperation by state, regional and local authorities and international organizations; organizational and institutional support of cooperation by cross-border cooperation treaty bodies, cross-border clusters, industrial zones and parks through the establishment of networks for cooperation and implementation of cross-border projects; the implementation of cross-border cooperation by individuals and legal entities, their associations and joint ventures; identification of the main tendencies and features of ensuring the social and economic efficiency of cross-border cooperation in the Ukrainian-Polish and Polish-German cross-border regions, which supplemented the existing analysis of management mechanisms, organizational tools and forms of cross-border cooperation in the context of integration processes; theoretical and applied recommendations for the activation of cross-border cooperation of the regions of Ukraine, envisaging strengthening of the target direction of cross-border cooperation projects and formation of basic preconditions for the socio-economic development of transboundary regions, taking advantage of the border placement, their natural resource and labor potential, as well as provisions for monitoring the effectiveness of the use of grants the resources of the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument and other international assistance programs for cross-border cooperation in order to increase socio-economic efficiency of cross-border cooperation of Ukraine; degree of implementation: developments implemented in the practical activities of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on European Integration, the Transcarpathian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the educational process of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv; scope: research of socio-economic efficiency of cross-border cooperation and development of priority directions of raising its level at the present stage of European integration of Ukraine.
