Loshtyn N. Monastic libraries of Catholic Metropolitanate of Lviv in the XIV-XVIII centuries: book science aspects

An analysis of the complex of the monastic libraries inventories from the XVIII century as sources to the history of monastic libraries of Catholic Metropolitanate of Lviv in the XIV-XVIII centuries from the funds of the Scientific Library of Lviv Ivan Franko National University.was conducted in the thesis. The source value of inventories, peculiarities of formation, and method of book records to the inventories are determined. The author carries out reconstruction of quantitative and thematic content of ancient monastic libraries. The researcher managed to reconstruct names of the workers in these libraries as well as names of library users and their reading interests. Circumstances that influenced formation and development of monastic libraries are specified. Moreover, the destiny of monastic libraries of Catholic Metropolitanate of Lviv that were reformatted and eliminated at the end of the XVIII century
