Shvets L. The town-planning principles of formation of railway station complexes in the structure of small and medium-sized cities

The modern problems of urban development of railway station complexes of small and medium-sized cities as the elements of several hierarchical levels, nodal elements of town-planning and transport systems on the example of Ukraine are analyzed in the thesis research. RSC actively influences on urban development processes of small and medium-sized cities, forms interaction with the external environment in accordance with the needs of society and the requirements of the spatial and compositional organization of town-forming objects. In the work carried out: analysis of scientific and practical experience of the development of small and medium-sized towns, identifying the current trends in the development of the RSC in the structure of small and medium-sized cities; the theoretical basis on the interaction of the transport and communication center and the public center of the city is expanded; A special method of researching the RSC has been developed, which is based on the hierarchical model of its formation used.
