Essay

This studypresents the first attempt, in the Ukrainian political science, to analyse the foreign cultural policy of Italy, on the basis of a wide range of sources, which were not subject of the special scientific research before. The paper examines the foreign cultural policy and classifies approaches to the study of the cultural factor at the national, regional and global levels. The thesis is dedicated to the foreign cultural policy of the Italian Republic. It is stated in the paper that the foreign cultural policy of Italy is exercised within the framework of the national initiative «Sistema paese» (system state), that provides interaction and cooperation between all institutions and bodies of the state. It is noted, that the foreign cultural policy of Italy is aimed to ensure national interests and foster international positions of the state through promotion of its cultural values and cultural attractiveness. The due attention is specially paid to promotion of the positive and attractive image of Italy on the international scene. It is emphasized, that in practice, the foreign cultural policy of Italy is realized within national program «Italy, the Destination» and the strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs «to live Italian». The main features of the foreign cultural policy of Italy are characterized by the rich cultural funds that are managed, protected and secured in a special way. It is noted in the paper, that the lack of the single act in the form of a single strategy is one of the peculiarities that determines regulatory framework of the foreign cultural policy of Italy. However, the provisions that regulate definite areas of the foreign cultural policy of Italy are contained in the documents, strategies and programs of different ministries and institutions.
