Kolodiy G. Toxicological substantiation of the use of a disinfectant based on salts of polyhexamethyleneguanidine

The dissertation is devoted to the study of toxicological parameters of the disinfectant «Valeus-V», made on the basis of polyhexamethyleneguanidine salts. The antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral effects were studied, stability and the resistance of the test strains of microorganisms to the action of the disinfectant is determined. The toxicological parameters of the disinfectant in laboratory animals have been practically studied. The acute toxicity and ability to cumulate in the body of rats have been established, embryotoxic and mutagenic properties have been investigated. It has been experimentally confirmed that the investigated substance shows a high bactericidal effect on both gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, as well as fungicidal and antiviral effects. Scientifically substantiated and experimentally confirmed the expediency of the disinfectant «Valeus-V» usage, created on the basis of salts of PGMG, for disinfection of water facilities. On the basis of the conducted research there were developed the Methodical Instructions «Receiving antibiotic-resistant strains of microorganisms», Methodical Recommendations for the use of the disinfectant «Valeus-V» and the Technical Conditions of Ukraine for the disinfectant «Valeus-V».
