Essay

The research is devoted to the study of important individual features of the personality of the future officers-psychologists of the penitentiary institutions. They are reflected in individual psychological traits, namely: emotional and volitional stability; the level of intelligence; self-control behavior; persistence in achieving the goal. It has been revealed that the professional development of specialists leads to a change in the person’s motivational sphere, namely: the desire to achieve the highest results of professional activity, to overcome the difficulties that arise on the way to achieving a certain goal; improvement of own abilities; the formation and development of important individual psychological traits of personality necessary for successful professional activity. During professional activity, the effectiveness of achieving a result largely depends on the manifestation of individual psychological traits of a specialist. Individual psychological traits are manifested in the cognitive sphere of the individual, his ability to realize certain tasks, to search for the right decisions, while maintaining respect for it, self-confidence, motivation to achieve the result, etc. The personality traits are manifested in the intellectual sphere, emotional and volitional stability, motivation towards achieving the result and proper regulation of their own behavior. For the professional development and growth of the future officers-psychologists of the penitentiary institutions, a training course has been developed that promotes the development of the important individual psychological traits necessary for optimal performance of their professional duties. According to the results of the study of the opinion of respondents of control and experimental groups, as well as experts of our study, the important individual psychological traits of the future officers-psychologists of the penitentiary institutions, which influence the improvement of the performance of professional functions, are defined: emotional and volitional stability; level of intelligence; self-control behavior and persistence in achieving the goal. According to the results of the research, during the recording and molding experiments, there were positive changes at the level of statistical significance p ≥ 0,05 such individual psychological traits of the psychologists of the penitentiary institutions as: the level of intelligence; practicality of own actions; flexibility of behavior; emotional and volitional stability; self-control behavior; motivation for success; autonomy of functional actions.
