Essay

The thesis is devoted to solving the important scientific and practical task of health care - scientific reasoning of a functional and organizational model for overcoming stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV. Based on the results, the functional and organizational model for overcoming stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV is developed. The strategic direction of the model is the formation of safe behavior in the population for HIV infection, tolerant attitude to people affected by HIV/AIDS and to their rights. The tactical direction of the model is to provide the entire population and individual groups with professional and communicative influence of comprehensive and reliable information about the nature of the disease, the ways of prevention and ensuring safe behavior for HIV infection. It is important to prioritize the target group of health care workers, including comprehensive measures and activities aimed at improving their qualifications, creating safe working conditions and strengthening control over compliance with the current legislation and regulations on the provision of medical care to people affected by HIV/AIDS epidemic. The experts evaluated the functional and organizational model for overcoming stigma and discrimination against PLWHIV positively (9.6 points), which is in line with international approaches and it is recommended for implementation in the practice of health care in Ukraine.
