The object of research is the social relations that arise in connection with the constitutional and legal regulation of the protection of cultural heritage. Subject of research - the constitutional and legal principles of the protection of cultural heritage. Within the framework of the research carried out a number of theoretical and practical provisions and conclusions are formulated, in particular: for the first time: - formulated doctrinal understanding of the protection of cultural heritage as a basis for ensuring the national interests of the state, on which the state of satisfaction of the spiritual needs of citizens, strengthening of the sovereignty of the country, preservation of territorial integrity, the formation of a consolidated nation and a developed democratic regime of social relations largely depends on the state; Improved: - theoretical and methodological content of the category "protection of cultural heritage" as an object of constitutional and legal regulation; - institutional model of functioning of the system of state bodies of protection of cultural heritage of Ukraine; - normative-legal approaches to the definition of the subunitory structure of local self-government in the field of cultural heritage protection; got further development: - Specification of objects of cultural heritage; - practical approaches to the creation of nature reserves and protected areas as an effective mechanism for the protection of cultural heritage; - an idea of ​​the place and role of executive bodies of local self-government in the implementation of the function of protecting monuments of local importance.
