Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of cultivation methods of yeast Rhodosporidium diobovatum IMB Y-5023, which will allow to obtain a high yield of this producer's biomass and carotenoids. The growth dynamics peculiarities of R. diobovatum IMB Y-5023 and the required yeast cultivation duration for obtaining maximum yield of biomass and carotenoids have been established on the investigated natural and synthetic media. Modification methods of natural nutrient media have been developed for cultivating R. diobovatum IMB Y-5023 to obtain a greater biomass yield. The investigated yeasts ability to grow on media - industrial waste containing a large number of lipids, after their optimization was shown. For the first time it has been established that yeast R. diobovatum IMB Y-5023 can grow on medium with low output glucose content. The biomass yield, content and composition of carotinoid pigments in biomass R. diobovatum IMB Y-5023 were investigated at cultivation in test media in the dark and at different intensity illumination in the range of 0-5000 lux. It has been established that cultivation of R. diobovatum IMB Y-5023 can be carried out in the dark. The nutrient media composition has been researched before and after yeast cultivation.
