The dissertation is devoted to the problem of future primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children as an important component of professional training. The thesis presents the results of theoretical and experimental study of primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children such as: the analysis of the state of problem research in pedagogical theory and practical activity of institutions of higher education is carried out; the essence of the concepts "primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children ", "left-handed children", "the readiness of primary school teacher’s on how to work with left-handed children " is revealed. In the thesis the content and technological support of primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children is substantiated and it covers the content, forms and methods of teaching during the study of specialized disciplines; found that children's left-handedness is not just an advantage of the left hand, but the result of one of the variants of structural-functional asymmetry of the brain; left-handed pupils’ features in the process of educational and cognitive activity are determined; the structure of the primary school teacher readiness for the specified type of activity, which includes motivational, cognitive and operational-activity components is substantiated; criteria, indicators and levels of readiness are defined. The effectiveness of the developed content and technological support (content, forms and methods) of the primary school teacher's training on how to work with left-handed children is experimentally tested and proved; improved teaching and methodological support of primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children, which included knowledge of the features of left-handed pupils’ education; identifying and overcoming difficulties during the work with such children, the ability to create a situation of success in a classroom, mastering means of diagnosing the leading hand of junior pupils, technology of organization psychological and pedagogical support of left-handed children, etc. The methodical recommendations for primary school teachers are created in order to organize a situation of success for left-handed children in Ukrainian lessons (for the successful mastering of calligraphy writing and reading skills for left-handed children), Literary lessons, Mathematics and Science on the basis of concluded differentiated and individual tasks and exercises. The practical significance of the results of the study is that the content and technological support of the primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children was developed and improved; the special course «Work of the primary school teacher with the left-handed children» was prepared and implemented into the educational process (for the third-year students, bachelor’s degree, specialty «Primary education»), the author's Internet site «The World of Left-handed». The results of the experiment confirmed the effectiveness of the developed content and technological support of the primary school teacher’s training on how to work with left-handed children.
