Essay

The thesis presents the particularities of the life path planning as a form of the individual’s goal-setting. The theoretical analysis of the phenomena the life path planning and the individual’s goal-setting was conducted. It was determined that the life path planning is considered as a representation of the ideal image of one's own life history ("own life map"), based on personal and/or socio-cultural experience, contributing to the self-determination of the individual. It was demonstrated that one of the key psychological problems of life path forecasting is related to the problem of setting individual’sconscious life goals. The features of life path planning by people in the early adulthood and by people with drug addiction undergoing rehabilitation have been analyzed. It was stated that the examinees of the "Students" group have a model of their own life that contains priority and stereotyped events that are typical for the society. Planning of your own future stands out by its scale, but also by a weak thoughtfulness, unrealistic optimism, not taking into account the life circumstances and opportunities that society provides at the moment. The strategy of seeing one's own future concerns the family sphere, professional self-realization, leisure. There was no motivation to improve one's personality. The life path planning of people with drug addiction undergoing rehabilitation has been studied. The general unformedness of the personal life path was defined. Were compared the results of the two methods: "My life path" and "Personal history", and it was stated that the planning of people with drug addiction reflects the general emotional tone of different periods of life, and the narratives allow to determine the understanding of their experience, important moments of life, key events and significant people by people with drug addiction. The hierarchy of life goals in the examined groups was compared. It is established that examinees in the early adulthood are not yet aware of the strategic goal or the main goal of the life, and for people with drug addictionsuch goal is recovery. The factors reflecting features of goal setting in the groups "Students" and "Drug Addicted" were established. The hierarchy of values in the "Students" and "Drug Dependent" groups is compared: the subjects differ by p <0.01, which in turn indicates the features in the goal setting and various meanings of life. Key words: life path, planning, goal-setting, goal, early adulthood, people with drug addiction, narrative method
