Essay

This thesis is a theoretical and experimental study of the problem of formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language in the process of professional education while studying pedagogical disciplines. The research provides, firstly, a thorough analysis of the concepts and terminology, reveals the state of formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language in the process of professional education while studying pedagogical disciplines. Secondly, the thesis develops and substantiates theoretically the technology of formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language, pedagogical conditions, forms and methods of its implementation in the process of professional education while studying pedagogical disciplines. Thirdly, it clarifies the criteria of the level evaluation of the formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language. Besides, it highlights methodical guidelines to the suggested pedagogical technology. The essence of the concept «cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language» is specified as a complex personal feature the basis of which comprises of the combination of motivational, cognitive and action ability to perform professionally oriented cognitive and creative activity without external interference and evaluate adequately the process and the results of this activity. The technology of formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language in the process of studying pedagogical disciplines contains the following stages: professional-motivational, content-operational, personal-reflective. The pedagogical conditions of the effective formation of cognitive and creative independence of future teachers of a foreign language in the process of studying pedagogical disciplines are singled out: the organization of purposeful work at the development of motivational-valuable students’ attitude to the formation of their own cognitive and creative independence in the process of studying pedagogical disciplines; involving students into different types of independent cognitive and creative activity; modelling heuristic professionally oriented situations. The results of the experimental verification of the suggested technology prove the effectiveness and expediency of its implementation into the professional educational process of future teachers of a foreign language.
