Ovcharenko I. The formation and development cryophysics in Ukraine (30s of the 20th century – the beginning of the 21st century)

The dissertation for the scientific degree of the Candidate of Historical Science by specialty 07.00.07 – History of Science and Technique. – The National Scientific Agricultural Library of NAAS, Kyiv, 2018. The dissertation is a scientific historical research. Formation and development cryophysics in Ukraine are disclosed involving broad-based sources and methodological foundations. The world context of the development of cryophysics, which allowed to establish the main stages of formation of a scientific direction has been proposed. The process of institutionalization of research work on the field of low-temperature physics in Ukraine has been reconstructed. It is determined that in the 30's of the twentieth century a network of scientific centers for research in the field of cryophysics have been formed, the contribution of their scientific groups have been specified. The facts about the achievements of the leading scientists of the Physics and Technic Institute of Low Temperatures and the Scientific Schools, which were formed at the Institute, were supplemented and refined. The role of the scientists of the Institute in the preparation of scientific, technical and engineering staff for enterprises of various sectors of the national economic complex of the country were determined. The work of graduate schools and academic councils that have been working since the institute's foundation and contributed to raising the level of skilled scientific and technical, engineering staff has been analyzed. The effectiveness of research, integration of the results of activity to Ukrainian industry was analyzed. The experience and directions of international cooperation of scientists of the institute with research institutions of Western and Eastern European countries in the field of physic of low temperature were highlighted. The connections between the scientists of the institute and many foreign research centers and institutes that allowed leading scientists of the institute to receive the latest scientific information that increased the effectiveness of research work, reduced the time of research has been investigated and disclosed.
