Essay

The dissertation is concerned with the study of the diversity, taxonomic structure and ecological/trophic characteristics of discomycetes of Kharkiv Forest Steppe, including the abundance, distribution and biotopic preferences of some model species. The species composition of the discomycetes of Kharkiv Forest-steppe is estimated as having 254 species. One species is reported for the first time in Eastern Europe, 35 species - for the first time for Ukraine. Compared to other regions of Ukraine, the Kharkiv Forest-steppe has a rather specific species composition of discomycetes, most similar to the Right Bank Forest-steppe and Western Polesye. 9 eco-trophic groups of discomycetics were allocated: xylophylls, edafophils, herbophylls, bryophylls, phyllophils, carphytes, pyrophylises, coprophils and mycophylls. Based on the research of model species, the introduction of Urnula craterium species into the Red List of Kharkiv region is proposed. The lecto- and epithecification of the species Morchella steppicola Zerova was conducted. Molecular-phylogenetic studies allowed to establish the consistency of M. steppicola samples from Ukraine with samples from other countries of Central Eurasia and to confirm that this species is a genealogically isolated line within the Morchella genus. It is established that in the Kharkiv Forest-steppe this species is rather common, relatively stable to anthropogenic loading and is not an indicator of undamaged steppe areas.
