Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the thorough and comprehensive study of the EU Eastern Partnership as an important dimension of the Eastern policy of the Republic of Poland, by taking into account the actual trends of international relations transformation in Central and Eastern Europe. It is concluded that the European Partnership is a strategic initiative of Polish foreign policy, the main goal of which is to involve the EU into the cooperation with its Eastern neighbours. It is a means of strengthening their independence from the influence of the Russian Federation and ensuring the security interests of Poland in the East. It is argued that the combination of several trends and processes affects the current Polish activity in the region covered by the European Partnership, as well as the related activities of Poland both within the framework of the EU and towards Russia. The potential opportunities and constraints for the Eastern policy of Poland in the context of the dynamics of joint ventures, which are dictated by the status of Poland as a developed member state of the EU.
